Doc McStuffins Coming to Disney Junior in 2011

The newest show coming to the Disney Junior (Playhouse Disney is soon to be called this) line up is Doc McStuffins. The show is about a six-year-old girl named Dottie "Doc" McStuffins. She can communicate with stuffed animals and toys. Basically a Dr. Doolittle for toys. Doc McStuffins uses her ability to heal and take care of the stuffed animals and toys in her neighborhood by seeing them in her backyard clinic.

It sounds like a fun imaginative show. The show does not sound too educational, but it seems like it will teach some useful stuff like healthy living and taking care of others. Certainly worth checking out when it premieres in 2011.

24 Hour Disney Junior Channel for Ages 2 to 7 Coming in 2012

Disney Junior is a long way off still, but it is interesting to learn that Disney is making a channel just for ages 2 through 7. It is kind of like how Nickelodeon turned the Noggin Channel into a Nick Jr show 24 hour channel. However, it is actually a totally unrelated network get the conversion. In 2012 SOAPnet will be converted to Disney Junior.

The Disney Junior channel will target the 2 to 7 age group. It will show mostly the types of shows on the Playhouse Disney part of the Disney Channel. It will also show Disney movies appropriate for that age group. Additionally, there will be new shows just for the new channel. One such new show already mentioned is Jack and the Never Land Pirates.

May 22, 2010, there will be a special birthday themed line up on Playhouse Disney. The Playhouse Disney Big Birthday Celebration line up is full of episodes of Playhouse Disney shows with birthday themes. This includes a new episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Imagination Movers.
